A new powerful earthquake has struck Nepal with a magnitude of 7.4 on May 12, 2015, killing even more people and causing many more injuries.
The epicentre of the quake was centred east of Kathmandu in a hilly area close to the border with Tibet and was also felt in Bangladesh and India. People were running outside terrified that their already damaged houses would collapse.
Our partners didn’t report casualties or major damage and could bring their patients into safety.
Already the first earthquake caused major damage as you can see in the video clip below. Thanks to cbm supporters around the world, together with our partners we were able to assist 1,000 people with injuries in medical outreach camps in the last two weeks.
Our relief efforts continue. Please help us now to ensure that people with disabilities receive the help they so urgently need in the aftermath of Nepal’s earthquakes.
