Typhoon Hagiput – locally known as Ruby – made landfall in the Philippines on the 6 December. cbm is monitoring the situation.
Typhoon Hagupit (locally named Ruby) made landfall on the Eastern Samar coast, near the town of Dolores (link to Google map) on 6 December. This is just over a year after Typhoon Haiyan struck the country.
cbm is contacting partners in the path of the storm, which is moving across the country over the next few days. Until now, all partners in the path have reported no casualties or major damage.
There is a cbm rapid needs assessment team on standby in Manila, though it is unlikely to be deployed.
Pray for the Philippines
Join us in praying for the Philippines at this time. In the past year over 60,000 people with disabilities or who are at risk of disability and live in poverty have received support through cbm in the wake of Haiyan. We pray for God’s reassurance and strength for all who are facing the possibility of a further disaster.
