Before joining cbm, I worked as a Team Leader of the microfinance programme at BRAC, Bangladesh, one of the largest development organisations in the world. Having spent half a decade at BRAC I moved to New Zealand in 2015.
My passion for cbm:
Born and growing up in Bangladesh - a country in the global south where poverty can be seen and felt everywhere - influenced me most to take development as a career. Working with some of the most marginalized people in the world has exposed me to some of the bitter realities of the sufferings of the people endure and made me commit my career to do the very best for them. I initially interned at cbm for 6 months before being offered the role of Programmes Officer.
My experiences that affirm this belief:
During my stay at BRAC I carried out programme and policy research, oversaw the planning and implementation of income generating, entrepreneurship development, and livelihood programmes in Bangladesh and various countries across Asia and Africa.
